Timepieces version 3.0 is HERE! Here are some of the brand new 3.0 clocks in action.
New 3.0 Clocks
| World Time Pocketwatch |
Diehl "Rocket" |
Hammond Stewardess |
| Swiss made, a watch that was clearly intended for a more British "Empire" (the center dial is London), this World Time pocket watch features dials for the current time in New York, Bombay/Mumbai, Sydney, Paris, and Cape Town. |
1950's space race inspired clock manufactured by Diehl in West Germany. Second hand as rocket ship smoothly orbits the Earth once every minute. |
Classic olive colored with chrome accents. Very traditional Art Deco styled "spin-to-start" wall clock from Hammond. |
| Ladies Purse Watch |
Bond Desktop |
Waltham Crescent St. |
| Ladies purse watch manufactured by Westclox in the 1930's. Designed by DeVaulchier & Blow, it won a Kaufmann Award in the 1935 Industrial Arts Exposition. Very elegant styling, I have found them most often in Blue, Black and White coloring with the same gold time ring and cream colored interior dial face. |
Gorgeous green swirled (probably originally blue) Catalyn clock with chrome accents. These are hard to find in good condition in the "real world" because the designers did not account for the shrinkage of the Catalyn over time and most of them have cracked around the metal bezel (which doesn't shrink) as they aged. |
Minute marked Early 20th century Waltham with winding strength indicator in a beautiful engraved case. |
| Lackner Neon Glo |
Stepped Waltham Desktop |
Jaz Deco Styled Alarm |
| Manufactured by Lackner in the 1930's and 1940's. Internally lit by a neon hoop that could be turned on and off. The glow effects were produced using the then new material known as Catalyn™ which was semi-translucent and allowed the neon to "glow". Originally white, this one has aged (as Catalyn does) to a rich swirled butterscotch color. |
Waltham 8 Day desktop clock mounted on a stepped chrome base and featuring dramatic white/black sword hands. |
1930's Mottled brown bakelite desk clock from French clock maker JAZ. It features very characteristically Art Deco sky-scraper motifs. It Includes our new alarm function. |
These clocks are an updated and expanded version of my original free desktop clocks program. Terry Longrie and I collaborated to bring these from the windows Desktop to your
iPhone. They view beautifully on your iPhone because of the high quality screen. Leave them on all day while they're plugged in at your desk and
enjoy any of 60 beautiful clock's of your choosing! They all install together as one package, tap once to bring up the
select screen and scroll through the list of choices, tap your choice to see it on the phone. Set them to automatically change at a set interval...
With 60 available, you can have a new one every minute of the hour... Revision 3.0 also includes a new category for us, something near and dear to my heart,
virtual versions of some of my favorite Art Deco electric clocks from the 30's, 40's and 50's. Several include our new alarm clock setting. Throw that
ugly digital alarm clock out, place your iPhone in the charger by your bed and set your Jaz alarm clock for 7:00 am.
Here are some of my other favorites shown as they actually look on my iPhone™... Click on any of the images to go directly to the iTunes™ app store page.
