Assorted clocks from my collection
I have a small but fun collection of assorted Telechrons, All with very different styles and from various time periods in the companies history (most prior to the GE buyout).
I have a fair collection of Ingraham alarm clocks. They made so many variations on a set of themes, you can really see the repetition if you begin to collect them.
No collection is complete without a few "spin to start's" and I have several nice Hammond's. Including a very nice "Machine Age" example that really does pre-date Art Deco at least for domestic clocks. I include it here since it's got a Hammond movement though it was actually made by the Best Lamp Co.
I'd like to have a few more Penwood's. I ususally lose out on the auction though since there are only a few that I really do want
The New Haven's that I have are all rather old but there are some nice desktop examples.
I like this one Phinney Walker because it's such a nice example of the playful way some of the art deco designs morphed into future-istic styles. This small Catalyn one is made to look somewhat like a TV set.
In cooperation with the Naval Observatory and Western Union... the Self Winding Clock Co. produced these beauties. It's case is actually a very nice burled walnut...
I have very few Session's Clock Co.examples. I have to say I really don't appreciate most of their work, most of it seems kind of tacky. But I do like these two very much.
I have some nice Seth Thomas's. There is a good, (though mostly dark black), example of a swirl Catalyn as well as some others.
I have at least one of the nice, heavy nickel plated clocks that Westclox produced as well as the obligatory Big Ben and some nice others.
Here is a matching set of Waterbury "Rousers", both white and red.
I included one of 2 very old mantle clocks I have here from Gilbert. I do like this one because of the beautiful figure work across the top. This is of course well before the art deco period but it's still beautiful.
I have a "Super Radiolite" from a company that briefly produced these in Chicago called Chronomaster.
I have a "Winslow" digital from the Winslow MFG. Co. of Stamford Conn.Winslow.
To round this all out I have a few miscellaneous clocks from Various Manufacturers some of which are quite nice including a "Hawkeye Measured Time laboratory clock with beautiful deco and futuristic styling - nice job of merging form with function.
